SSC GD Constable registration for 54,953 Posts is affected second time in one week

It seems the like the candidates who have planned to apply for SSC GD Constable recruitment 2018 will have to wait more. Though the application process for SSC GD Constable was rescheduled for July 24, the official website of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is still neither working properly nor opening. SSC, the commission which is mandated to make recruitment to Group 'B' (Non-Gazetted) posts and Group 'C' of (non-technical) posts under Government of India and their attached and subordinate offices, has announced a massive recruitment drive to fill 54,953 GD constable vacancies in various forces including BSF, CISF and CRPF among many others.

In an important notice published on the registration process of SSC General Duty (GD) constable examination, 2018, the SSC on July 22 had informed the applicants that the facility for submission of online applications has been rescheduled, and would start on the newly-developed website of the Commission by July 24, 2018. 

SSC had rescheduled the registration process for SSC GD constable registration in various forces after the newly developed website faced technical problems.

Accordingly, the commission had also said the last date for submission of the applications of SSC GD Constable recruitment has been extended till August 24, 2018 (5 PM). 

The SSC annually conducts eight mandated all India Open Competitive Examinations for filling up regular vacancies and also for recruitment to the selection of posts in various Ministries/Departments, attached and subordinate Offices, where the essential qualifications vary from Matriculation to Post Graduation specific to the job requirements of that Ministry/Department.

The SSC GD Constable aspirants may directly go the new website -- https://ssc.nic.in/ -- and start registering there for the recruitment once the website is back.

The candidates took their anger to social media about the website not responding:

In another development today, Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh said that a total of 25,138 and 68,880 candidates were recommended for the jobs by the SSC in 2015-16 and 2016-17, respectively. In 2017-18, 45,391 candidates were offered government jobs and 10,997 were recommended by the SSC in 2018-19 (as on June 30, 2018), Singh said in a written reply to the Lok Sabha.
