New Delhi: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is expected to release today the final result of the Constable (general duty or GD) exam which was notified in 2018. The SSC GD result and final merit list will be available on the official website of the Commission.

Through this exam the SSC will recommend candidates for appointment as Constable (General Duty) in Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Secretariat Security Force (SSF) and Rifleman (General Duty) in Assam Rifles.

SSC GD result is expected today
SSC is expected to release GD exam final result today. SSC has mentioned in its notification that SC, ST, OBC and ExS candidate who qualifies on the basis of relaxed standards viz. age limit, height and chest measurement, experience or qualifications, permitted number of chances, extended zone of consideration larger than what is provided for general category candidate etc., irrespective of his/ her merit position, such SC, ST, OBC and ExS candidates is to be counted against reserved vacancies.

SSC GD 2020 notification will be released in March
The SSC will hold a computer-based test from August 2 to August 25 for selection of Constables (general duty) in CAPFs, National Investigation Agency (NIA), Secretariat Security Force (SSF) and Rifleman (general duty) in Assam Rifles. The details of the recruitment will be released on March 25. As per the exam calendar of the SSC, candidates will be allowed to apply for the exam till May 10, 2021.

SSC GD result: Important point on reserved vacancies
As per the official notification, "SC, ST, OBC and ExS candidates, who are selected on their own merit without relaxed standards, along with candidates belonging to other communities, will not be adjusted against the reserved share of vacancies. Such candidates will be accommodated against the unreserved vacancies as per their position in the overall Merit List. The reserved vacancies will be filled up separately from amongst the eligible SC, ST, OBC and ExS candidates."

According to the exam notification released by the SSC, "allotment of CAPFs/ Organizations to finally selected candidates will be made on the basis of 'merit in computer based examinationn'-cum-'preference of CAPFs/ Organization' exercised by the candidates in the online applications submitted by them.

SSC GD result: Know how final merit list is prepared
The SSC has said that, "On the basis of aggregate marks scored by the candidates in the written exam, the final selection of candidates, along with force allocation, in each category namely, Un-Reserved, SC, ST, OBC and ex-servicemen will be made separately for male and female candidates in respect of each State/ UT and further earmarked category of Border Guarding and Militancy/ Naxal affected Districts wherever applicable. Selection of the candidates for NIA and SSF will be made on All India basis."

SSC GD result: Written exam was held for over 18 days
The written exam of SSC GD selection was held for over 18 days in 54 shifts with 3 shifts per day. Out of over 52 lakh registered candidates, close to 31 lakh candidates actually appeared for the exam. The exam was held at 297 centres in 125 cities.

SSC GD result: Appointment is on all India basis
Candidates selected for appointment are liable to serve anywhere in India, the SSC has said. "The appointment of candidates after selection is subject to availability of seats in training facilities of various CAPFs. As such, candidates may be appointed in phases in accordance with availability of training space. The Joining and in-service issues, seniority, training, etc will be regulated in accordance with the rules and regulations of various organizations," the SSC has said in the exam notification.
