SSC MTS Recruitment 2016: Exam Rescheduled For Eastern Region

New Delhi: Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has rescheduled the recruitment examination for Multi-Tasking Staff (Non-Technical) Staff exam 2016 for eastern region. The examination which was scheduled for 16, 30 April 2017 and 7 May 2017 will now be held on 30 April 2017, 28 May 2017 and 14,11 June 2017. Candidates who have registered for the exam should now prepare for it, accordingly. For other zones/ regions no change in exam date has been notified yet.

The ongoing SSC exam is held for recruitment to MTS post, a General Central Service Group 'C' Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial post in various Central Government Ministries / Departments / Offices, in different States / Union Territories.

Except for Eastern region, the SSC MTS examination will held on 16 and 30 April and 7 May 2017. The Commission had invited applications from matriculates through online mode.

The examination will comprise of objective type paper. The question paper will comprise of questions from General Intelligence and Reasoning (25 marks), Numerical Aptitude (25 marks), General English (50 marks) and General Awareness (50 marks). Candidates will be allowed 2 hours for the exam (2 hours 40 minutes for Visually Handicapped/ Cerebral Palsy candidates).

Candidates shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the examination will be required to appear for a descriptive type qualifying paper for testing basic language skills. The date of descriptive paper will be intimated in due course.

The descriptive paper will consist of Short Essay/Letter in English or any language included in the 8th schedule of the Constitution and will carry a total of 50 marks. Candidates will be allowed 30 minutes for the exam. The descriptive paper will be of qualifying nature.
