New Delhi:
Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has begun online registration for Group 4 exam otherwise known as Combined Civil Services Examination 4. The exam will select candidates for various posts included in Tamil Nadu Ministerial Service, Tamil Nadu Judicial Ministerial Service, Tamil Nadu Survey and Land Records Subordinate Service and Tamil Nadu Secretariat Service. A total of 9351 vacancies are open for recruitment. While the last date for submission of application is 13 December, candidates will be allowed to pay the fees for the exam through Bank or Post Office latest by 15 December 2017.
TNPSC Group 4 exam will be held on 11 February 2018 in forenoon (10 am to 1 pm).
Candidates must satisfy the minimum educational qualification as set by the Commission for recruitment along with the age limit.
'Based on the marks obtained by the candidates in the Written Examination, the tentative list of eligible candidates for certificate verification will be announced in the Commission's website. After verification of the original certificates, the eligible candidates will be summoned for counselling to allot the post and Unit / Department in the order of rank and category to which they are eligible as per the vacancy position,' says the Commission regarding the selection procedure.
However, the recruitment is open to other State candidates as well and this criteria has not been well accepted by opposition parties. Allowing non Tamil Nadu candidates for the Combined Civil Services Examination or commonly known as Group 4 exam by TNPSC has enraged the opposition. Criticizing the Commission's decision, opposition parties have cited that including candidates from other States would narrow down the chances for the candidates of the State for whom TNPSC Group 4 exam is one of the few opportunities for getting a government job.
