TNPSC Group 4 Recruitment Allows Other State Candidates; Opposition Enraged

New Delhi: Allowing non Tamil Nadu candidates for the Combined Civil Services Examination or commonly known as Group 4 exam by TNPSC has enraged the opposition. Criticizing the Commission's decision, opposition parties have cited that including candidates from other States would narrow down the chances for the candidates of the State for whom TNPSC Group 4 exam is one of the few opportunities for getting a government job. TNPSC Group 4 exam will be held in February 2018 and the online application will be accepted till 13 December. Read: TNPSC Group 4 Exam Registration Begins, Check Here For Details

"This move by TNPSC will dash the dreams of educated youth in Tamil Nadu aspiring for government jobs, when only around 15,000 people in the state get jobs in government services every year," said PMK founder S Ramadoss to TOI. "Several central public sector units in the state have seen increasing presence of officials from northern states. When such is the case, how can one accept 31% of these state government jobs to go for candidates from other states," he further added.

When around 1.3 crore youngsters are suffering without jobs, how can one accept the move by TNPSC to offer state government jobs to outsiders?" asked S Ramadoss while addressing a press conference in Chennai on Sunday.

Comparing the recruitment pattern of other States like Gujarat and Maharashtra the opposition has condemned the decision of TNPSC.

'Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the organisation's public meeting here on Sunday, Thirumurugan Gandhi, founder of May 17 Movement said that candidates from Tamil Nadu already lacked opportunities in Central government jobs and TNPSC recruitments were one of the few remaining avenues for aspirants from the State to get government jobs,' quotes The Hindu.
