UPSC Civil Services 2020 notification will be released on February 12
New Delhi: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will notify Civil Services Prelim exam and Indian Forest Service Prelim exam 2020 on February 12. Aspiring candidates will be able to apply for the exam till March 3. The exam will be held in May 31.
The application process for UPSC Civil Services exam will be facilitated through the online application portal for UPSC: 'upsconline.nic.in'.
UPSC Civil Services: Eligibility Criteria
The minimum eligibility required for appearing in Civil Services exam is a Bachelor's degree from a recognized University or institute.
Age-wise, applicant must not be younger than 21 years and older than 32 years. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC, ST, and Ex-Servicemen candidates and up to three years for OBC candidates, and Defence Services Personnel, disabled in operations during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence.
UPSC Civil Services: Number Of Attempts
An applicant is allowed six attempts at Civil Services exam. In case of OBC candidates the number of permissible attempts is nine.
There is no cap on attempts for candidates belonging to SC and ST categories.
UPSC Civil Services Prelims Notification Soon
Candidates of Persons with Benchmark Disability will get as many attempts as are available to other candidates who do not belong to Persons with Benchmark Disability of his or her community. In case of Persons with Benchmark Disability in General category, the number of attempts allowed will be nine.
Meanwhile, the centre is pondering over merging the UPSC test for recruitment of entry-level paramilitary forces' officers with the Civil Services exam which is held for recruitment on posts like IAS, IFS etc.
