According to the Union Public Service Commission examination calender, the notification for the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2017 will be out on February 22. The UPSC will also release the notification for the UPSC Indian Forest Services Preliminary Examination 2017 through CS (P) exam 2017. According to the UPSC calendar the last date for the receipt of applications will be March 17, 2017 and the Civil Services Preliminary Examination will be conducted on 18 June, 2017.

The UPSC has not released the Civil Services Main Exam 2016 results yet. Last year the UPSC had declared the Mains results by February 19. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Main exam 2016 was conducted from December 3 to 9 at various centers across the nation. The commission had earlier agreed to consider the representations from the candidates who complained about an essay in Hindi, its translation was different from what was given in its English questions side.

According to the Union Public Service Commission notification published earlier for the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2016, there were vacancies of 1079 in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Revenue Service (IRS) and others. The new notification will come up with the current vacancies in the above mentioned services.

The Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Examination application will be done in online mode. The selection process of the civil services constitutes of CS Preliminary Exam, CS Main Exam and Interview.
