WB TET 2018: Exam Date, Official Notification, Other Details
Official notification of West Bengal Teacher Eligibility Test (WB TET) 2018 has been. As per a recent PTI report, exam date and other detail for the
WB TET 2018 has been released on 9 October 2017. WB TET 2018 will be held to select candidates against 30000 vacant posts. This will be one of the major recruitment in the State and candidates can find all details at the official website of the State primary education board at wbbpe.org. The Board has fixed the eligibility criteria for TET in state aided primary schools. As per the decision taken by the Board only those candidates who have completed year teachers' training programme along with scoring at least 50 per cent marks in Higher Secondary examination will be allowed for TET.
Education minister Partha Chatterjee told reporters here, "I have urged the Primary Education Board to issue a notification after the Board office opens on October 9 stipulating the two conditions as per the guidelines mentioned by the Department of School Education, Government of West Bengal."
As of now no other change has been declared by the Board. Taking the eligibility criteria set for WB TET 2017 into consideration, applicants will have to choose any one of the following languages as first language : Bengali, Hindi, Urdu, Nepali, Santhali, Oriya and Telugu. The choice will be on the basis of the medium of instruction in the school. The second language for all is English.
Till previous year, the exam was held on a single day throughout the State. Changes for this year, if has been fixed by the Board, can be seen from the official notification.
