Kanpur: Three inmates of the district jail in Kanpur have received the high school board exam pass certificate which was delayed following a mistake in the attendance sheet.
"Chand, Akhtar and Amit had appeared in the High School exam last year from the centre set up by the Uttar Pradesh Education Board at Fatehgarh prison," Superintendent of Kanpur district jail Vijay Bikram Bahadur Singh said.
However, in Fatehgarh prison they were marked as absent. Later Kanpur jail officials sent the documents proving that they sat for the exams following which the UP Board issued certificates to the three prisoners, he said.
