Kanpur:
Seven persons, including three women, were on Friday killed and nine others injured in a head-on collision between a jeep and truck in Bilhaur area in Kanpur, police said.
Four of the injured were stated to be critical.
A speeding truck rammed into the jeep ferrying passengers to Bangarmau in Bilhaur area on the city outskirts, SP Kanpur (Rural Area) Manoj Sonkar said.
Seven occupants of the jeep died on the spot, whereas nine others were admitted to a hospital.
Mr Sonkar further said, "The deceased included four men and three women, and efforts are being made to arrest the truck driver."
