Kanpur:
A B.Com student and his cousin sister were killed and another family member injured when their motorcycle was hit by a speeding truck in Kanpur, police said today.
The incident occurred last evening when 23-year-old Rohit along with his sister Aditi (9) and his aunt Sandhya was returning on his motorcycle after visiting a doctor. The vehicle was hit by the speeding truck when it tried to overtake them, they said.
Rohit died on the spot while Aditi succumbed to her injuries on way to a hospital. Sandhya is said to be in a critical condition, they added.
Meanwhile, locals caught hold of the truck driver and handed him over to the police.
The bodies have been sent for post mortem, they said, adding, further investigation is on.
