Kanpur:
BJP workers today staged a protest against unscheduled and long power outages in Kanpur, causing traffic jam at the main chowk in the city.
The party workers, led by BJP MLA Satish Mahana, shouted slogans against the state government.
"The ruling Samajwadi Party ministers are not paying any attention to the electricity crisis in the city. I had raised this issue in the state assembly but only got empty assurances from the state government," Mr Mahana said in Kanpur.
The BJP MLA said if the electricity crisis was not solved at the earliest, he along with party workers will stage even more such protests.
Due to power shortage, several businesses, factories and the leather industry had been affected, he said.
