Kanpur: A sub-inspector today committed suicide by jumping from the seventh floor of a building in Kanpur, police said.
Sandeep Singh (40) jumped from the seventh floor of his Raman Stuti apartment situated in Kakadev around 11 AM today, DSP Akhlak Ahmed said.
He was rushed to hospital by the bystanders where he was declared brought dead by the doctor.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that Singh was mentally perturbed since last few days, he said.
"A suicide note was recovered from his possession in which he said he was disturbed because of his habits and had committed suicide because of personal reasons," he added.
The suicide note has been confiscated by the police and the body has been sent for post-mortem.
Singh is survived by his wife and two children aged 4 years and one-and-a-half months.
