Kanpur: At least 12 students of a private school in Collector Ganj area in Kanpur were injured, five of them critical, when its roof collapsed on them on Thursday, police said.
The mishap occurred on Thursday morning when the examination of 26 students of VI were underway in the M S D Junior High School, police said.
Among the victims admitted to a nearby health centre, the condition of five was stated to be critical while one of them was referred to PGI Lucknow for better treatment, they said.
Meanwhile, a case has been lodged against the principal and teachers of the school, who are at large, they added.
