Kanpur: Three people of a family were killed on Monday when a truck rammed into a motorcycle at Audauri village, on the outskirts of Kanpur, police said.
The dead were identified as Pradeep, who drove the bike, and two pillion riders -- Pradeep's wife Chanda Devi and nephew Rohit.
A truck from Bhognipur, 60 km away from Kanpur, rammed into the motorcycle. Both men were killed on the spot, while the woman died at a nearby medical facility where she was taken for treatment.
Angry villagers blocked the road where the accident occurred, but were later pacified by policemen.
All three bodies have been sent for autopsy.
The truck driver managed to flee in his truck. Local police are trying to trace the driver and the vehicle.
