Lucknow: Tight security arrangements are in place for the rally of BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in Kanpur on October 19.
"Seven SP rank officials, eight additional superintendent of police, 15 deputy superintendent of police, 40 inspectors, 700 constables, 100 lady constables and anti-sabotage team among others have been provided for the rally in Kanpur," IG law and order RK Vishkarma told reporters.
All necessary precautions are being taken in view of the rally at Kalyanpur in Kanpur, he said.
BJP state unit chief Laxmikant Bajpai said party president Rajnath Singh would also address the rally.
The BJP leader said they expect a massive turnout in the rally, which would formally kick off the party's campaign for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
The BJP leader said security personnel from Gujarat have also arrived in Kanpur for the security of Modi.
