Kanpur:
Distraught over her husband's suspicion that she was cheating on him, a woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in Babuparwa area in Kanpur, police said today.
Shahnawaz and Shayista Alam had a love marriage a few months ago, they said.
However, Shahnawaz suspected that some male friend of his wife was messaging her, leading him to doubt her fidelity, they said.
Upset over these allegations, Shayista committed suicide by hanging herself in her room, they said.
In another incident, a woman Sonu Kumar allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison in Bakar Ganj area as she suspected her husband of cheating on her, police said.
The husbands in both cases are being questioned, they said.
