Woman force-fed crushed glass

Kanpur: In a shocking incident in Kanpur, a woman was force-fed crushed pieces of glass by her husband due to her inability to bear a child.

The woman, Kareena, says that her husband, Neeraj, wanted a divorce so that he could marry again. On Monday, alleges Kareena, he tried to kill her after she refused a divorce. She was first beaten up and then allegedly forced to swallow the glass.

Their neighbours, on hearing Kareena's cries, informed her parents who rescued her and took her to a local hospital, where her condition is critical.

Neeraj and Kareena have been married for two-and-a-half years.

A case has been registered against Neeraj by Kareena's relatives and an investigation is on.
