Bengaluru: An astrology workshop to be held at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, where India's only science Nobel Prize winner CV Raman worked, has sparked immense outrage by the faculty. Because of the immense pressure from the faculty, the event has been shelved.
One of the most significant scientific institutions in India, the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru has cancelled a workshop it was to hold 'Astrology as a Scientific Tool for Individual Progress' on November 25-26, 2017 at its premises.
The two day workshop was to be conducted by an alumnus of IISc, MS Rameshaiah, who also worked on making Light Combat Aircraft.
The workshop was being organised by the IISc Alumni Association as its President MP Ravindra, formerly with Infosys, said it was being organised to bridge the gap that exists between astrologers and scientists, in order to allegedly make the country more scientifically literate.
