Brother-in-law guns down scrap merchant

Bangalore: One person was shot dead by his brother-in-law for frequently quarrelling with his sisterand not keeping her happy, police said.

Jamshed Sheriff (37), a scrap merchant, was gunned down by Aslam Pasha who visited his house alongwith his brothers Amjad and Akram,Police Inspector B S Mohankumar said.

While talking to him, Aslam took out .32 pistol from his pocket and fired at Jamshed, injuring him below the collarshoulder, he said.

He was immediately rushed to hospital and succumbed to his injuries, Mohankumar said.

Jamshed and his wife were married four years ago and frequently quarelled over various issues, including havingno children, he said.

The woman was staying with her parents for the past two months following a quarrel.

While Aslam was arrested, the other two are absconding, Mohankumar said.
