CBI files transfer warrant for Janardhana Reddy

CBI files transfer warrant for Janardhana Reddy
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed for a prisoner transfer warrant to shift former Karnataka minister Janardhana Reddy out of the Chanchalguda Jail. The warrant has reached the Chanchalguda Jail, where Mr Reddy has been put after his arrest in the illegal mining case.

Jail authorities are gearing up to provide ready sufficient escort personnel for Mr Reddy's date in court. Sources say that he may be produced on Friday in Bangalore.

Mr Reddy was arrested from Bellary in September last year. The CBI, probing "illegal" mining and irregularities in allotment of leases to Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC), had arrested Mr Reddy and his brother-in-law Srinivas Reddy, who is Managing Director of the company.
