Bagalkot: A 35-year old Congress worker was brutally murdered by some persons in a village in Bagalkotdistrict of Karnataka, police said.
Hanumantha Chattaragi Ganagir, who was a cane supervisor in Baragandi Sugar Factory owned by Congress MLC S R Patil, was waylaid and fatally assaulted at Nayanegali by some persons with whom he was involved in a petty quarrel, Superintendent of Police Ishwarachandra Vidyasagar told PTI.
Police, who rushed to the village, apprehended some of the culprits and a hunt was on for some others, he said addingpolice pickets had been posted to monitor the situation.
