Bengaluru:
JD(S) today staged a protest in Bengaluru and shouted slogans against Governor Vajubhai Vala, accusing him of "ill-treating" former prime minister and Janata Dal (S) chief HD Deve Gowda.
JD(S) activists raised slogans against Mr Vala asking him to go back to his native state of Gujarat.
Protesters also burnt his effigy and tyres.
Mr Gowda and JD(S) legislators on Monday were reportedly not allowed to directly submit a memorandum, opposing the creation of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), to the governor.
TA Saravana, JD(S) member of the legislative council, who led the protest, said the governor has to apologise to the former prime minister within two days.
"We will also complain to the President about the incident," he said, adding, the insult caused to Mr Deve Gowda was an "insult to the people of Karnataka."
JD(S) has alleged that a party delegation was not allowed to meet the governor despite having a prior appointment. They have that they were informed by the Aide-De-Camp (ADC) after some 45 minutes that Mr Vala was taking rest.
