Bangalore:
The Karnataka Government decided to increase the annual income limit for availing OBC reservation benefits from the present Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 3.5 lakh.
The state cabinet chaired by Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda took the decision fulfilling a demand of OBCs, officials said.
The cabinet also decided to withdraw cases filed against farmers during the agitation held in Bellary last year to protest forcible acquisition of land for the new Bellary Airport Project in Chaganur and Sirwara villages.
The government decided to permit establishment of two private universities in Doddaballapur and Kanakapura, the officials said.
Manipal Private University will come up at Doddaballapur and ARKA Private Universityat Jakkasandra in Kanakapura taluk.
