Tenth standard boy of Kayaka Education Foundation of Gulbarga Mahesh K J bagged the state-level Best Child Scientist Award for the year 2011 at the 19th State-Level National Children Science Convention here on Sunday.
He was felicitated with a cash prize of Rs 10,000, a certificate and citation at the function. He would be sent to the National-Level Children Science Conference to be held in Jaipur from December 27.
Mahesh's Project titled - 'Study of Rubber particles in soil' - was adjudged as the best project at the science convention. Mahesh, who wants to become a psychiatrist, said he was extremely happy to get the first award in his life and thanked Science teacher of Kayaka Foundation's High School, Hyder, for guided him.
