Bengaluru: Karnataka will have new ministers today. The green-light for the move comes after Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's visit to New Delhi to consult the Congress leadership on plans to reshuffle his cabinet of ministers.

He met party chief Sonia Gandhi this morning along with Digvijaya Singh to finalise the list of names.

Siddaramaiah told reporters that he would send out the list soon.

An official release from the chief minister's office says the swearing-in of new ministers will take place at the Raj Bhavan in Bengaluru at 4 pm today.

Speculation about a major reshuffle of the three year old cabinet has been on the rise in Karnataka with expectations that non-performing ministers would be shown the door.  Also, with Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara, also being the state party chief, changes were expected there as well.

"At the moment, yes, I continue to be the president of the party till the high command takes a decision to change me. I don't know when that will be," Dr Parameshwara had told NDTV after a meeting of ministers on Wednesday.

After his return from New Delhi, Siddaramaiah left for an undisclosed location. There are reports that at least 13 ministers in the current cabinet have been asked to submit their resignations.
