Kolar: In disturbing visuals caught on CCTV camera, a woman is attacked at a temple in Karnataka with a machete by a man who struck her about a dozen times before he was restrained.
Kumari, the administrator of the Kotilingeshwari temple, survived the attack on Sunday night with a head wound and deep cuts on an arm. The temple is in Kolar, around 70 km from state capital Bengaluru.
The police say the attacker is 24-year-old Santhosh, an engineer who lives in the same village as Kumari. He is seen attacking Kumari from the back while she is standing in a corridor.
Santhosh has been arrested. The police suspect he planned the attack on Kumari because of an old dispute between their families.
