Bangalore: The compensation granted to kin of police constables, head constables and other police personnelwho die while on duty under a Group Insurance Scheme in Karnataka has been increased to Rs 10 lakh.
Director General and Inspector General of Police Shankar Bidari in a statement said till now the compensation wasRs three lakh under the scheme.
The government order comes into effect from March 12.
