For the first time in the history of Karnataka politics, a Chief Minister has been appointed as the Floor Leader in the Upper House of the State Legislature.
Legislative Council Chairman D H Shankar Murthy on Monday announced Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda's appointment as the Floor Leader in the Council.
Mr Gowda, who is a member of the Upper House, donned the Floor Leader's mantle in the wake of V S Acharya's death in February.
Mr Acharya was the Floor Leader in the Council.
