Bengaluru: Rain and thundershowers are likely at most places in Karnataka as the south-west monsoon advanced further into parts of north Karnataka and covered the entire state, the Met office said on Saturday.
Fishermen have been cautioned to stay off the sea as strong winds from the westerly direction reaching up to speeds of 45 to 55 km per hour are likely to blow along and off the Karnataka coast in the next 24 hours.
On Friday, Agumbe recorded 9 cm of rainfall, Mani and Chincholi recorded 6 cm of rainfall while Dharmasthala, Kumata, Karwar, Mulki and Puttur experienced 5 cm of rainfall each, officials added.
The Met department forecast for Bengaluru city was cloudy sky with a spell or two of rain and thundershowers on Saturday.
The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 29 degrees Celsius while the minimum is expected to be around 20 degrees on Saturday.
The city recorded 0.4 mm of rainfall on Friday.
Friday's maximum temperature in Bengaluru was 28.9 degrees Celsius, matching the season's average while the minimum was a notch higher at 20.5 degrees Celsius, officials said.
