Bengaluru: All Zila Panchayats (ZP)s in Karnataka will function as e-offices from January 1 next, state Rural Development and Panchyatraj Minister HK Patil said today.
In the first phase, the government would implement e-offices in all 30 ZPs and in the second, it will be done in Taluk Panchayat offices, Patil told reporters here.
He said there will be no physical movement of files in ZPs, which will provide a transparent, efficient and time-bound services to people.
In the present paper based file system, lot of time was being wasted in creating, searching and transferring documents and files, Mr Patil said.
E-office provides an effective mechanism to monitor the performance of employees and enables them to work at their convenience, the Minister said.
