21 students suspended after over 40 complain of ragging at college in Kerala's Mallapuram
Mallapuram: At a medical college in Kerala's Malappuram, 21 students have been suspended after their juniors complained of extreme ragging on Monday. Around 40 first-year students have alleged that they were forced to strip and clean toilets.

Three professors of the college are working with the police to investigate the allegation.

On Monday, five students of a government college in Kerala's Kottayam were arrested after a student who was stripped and tortured had to be taken to hospital with a kidney malfunction. He had to go through dialysis.

OS Avinash has said that he and eight other students were stripped, forced to drink liquor and made to do rigorous exercises for hours on the night of December 2.

Doctors say his kidneys have been affected because of severe exertion.
