Kozhikode: With the objective of disseminating the art of Kutiyattam, the oldest surviving theatre tradition, Sangeet Natak Akademi's Centre for Kutiyattam, Thiruvananthapuram has been organising Kutiyattam performance at various centres across the state, according to a top official of the Centre.
As part of the programme, Kutiyattam performance will be held at Thali Zamorin's High School, Kozhikode on February 26, K K Gopalakrishnan, Director, Centre for Kutiyattam, told mediapersons.
The decade long support programme of the Akademi yielded substantial results when the UNESCO declared Kutiyattam as a Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritge of Humanity in 2001, he said.
