Kochi: Saritha Nair, who is accused of swindling a host of industrialists in one of Kerala's most explosive corruption scandal, continued her allegations of bribery against the Oommen Chandy government before a judicial commission in Kochi.
Saritha, 36, who conned a multitude of investors promising cheap solar panels and green technology in what is now known as the solar scam, said that Chief Minister Oommen Chandy was responsible for both - "the growth and fall of her company with her co-accused", matching with what her partner and co-accused Biju Radhakrishnan's had said in his statement.
Talking to NDTV, Saritha Nair claimed that the money she paid to the chief minister through his aides was not for the relief fund. "The cheques of 1.9 crores I gave to the chief minister were not for CM'S relief fund, but for his policy on renewable energy. It was a bribe."
Chief Minister while deposing before the judicial commission last month had said that the two cheques received from Saritha Nair were for CM's relief fund and were duly acknowledged.
The solar scam accused Saritha Nair and Biju Radhakrishnan allegedly duped several businessmen of crores by promising solar panels which never reached them. They also allegedly used the name of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and his close aides and ministers to gain contracts.
