Thiruvananthapuram: A horrifying video of three Indians being beaten brutally by their Saudi employer has evoked strong reactions in Kerala.
The men, were who are from Haripad, a town in north Kerala, had forwarded the video to their family members, with an appeal for help.
In the video, the Saudi man can be seen chasing the three men, a wooden club in hand, and beating them up.
The three were promised jobs in Yemen as electricians. But they were duped and taken Abha in Saudi Arabia, where they were forced to work in a brick manufacturing company.
Chief Minister Oommen Chandi today said the state authorities have got in touch with the Indian embassy and the associations of Keralites in Saudi Arabia. All efforts are being made to get the men back to India within two days, he added.
Many persons from Kerala go to middle-east with promises of jobs with the help of middlemen, which lays them open to trafficking.
The families said the men want to come back to India but lack the means as they are very poorly paid.
