Kozhikode: Gold bars valued at Rs 50 lakh were seized today from near an escalator at Karipur International Airport, a customs official said.
The bars, weighing 2.116 kg, were found concealed in separate packets near the escalator and were detected during a routine check, Assistant Commissioner, Air Customs Intelligence, Abdul Rasheed said.
No arrest has been made yet in connection with the seizure, he said.
