Thiruvananathapuram: The Indian Lawyers Congress today condoled the death of Kerala Governor and former Puducherry Chief Minister MOH Farook.
The pro-Congress lawyers body said in a message that Farook was an astute politician and able administrator.
Farook died in Chennai on January 26.
As a leader of the Congress,Farook was a firm defender of nationalism by keeping the people of his state in the Indian political mainstream by waging relentless struggles against parochial trends , International Law Commission General secretary C Raheem said.
The departed leader had also rendered distinguished and selfless services to the nation as minister at the Centre, Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia and Chairman of the Central Haj Committee.
Though he had served only briefly as Kerala Governor, Farook had shown keen interest in the state's development, it said.
The International Law Commission also conveyed its condolences to the bereaved family.
