Thiruvananthapuram: BJP today flayed Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's statement that an attempt was being made to create an anti-Muslim feeling in the society, saying he was indulging in "appeasement politics".
Party state president Kummanom Rajasekharan said here that the chief minister should reveal who had made such an attempt.
"The Chief Minister, who has to take stern action in terror cases, is playing appeasement politics, which is dangerous to the country," he said.
Mr Vijayan had yesterday in the state assembly made it clear that extremism and terrorism has no religion and the government would not allow any move to trigger anti-Muslim sentiments in the society using media reports about the links of a group of Keralites to Islamic State.
It was BJP's declared stand that terrorism has no religion, Mr Rajasekharan said, adding, Mr Vijayan should also reveal whether any BJP or RSS leader had attempted to give religious colour to any terror cases.
He also urged Mr Vijayan to show readiness to carry out an effective probe into terror-related cases without showing any consideration to anybody.
