Thrissur:
A cultural festival of classical performing arts of Kerala, including Kathakali, would be organised in Delhi in August this year under the auspices of Kerala Kalamandalam, the state's deemed art university,cultureMinister K C Joseph said.
As part of expansion of the institution, sub-centres of Kalamandalam would be set up in important towns in the state,Joseph said, speaking after distributing prizes to classical artists for their outstanding performance at Kalamandalam.
The UGC Scales would be implemented to the faculty of the Kalamandalam University, Joseph said.
He said an amount of Rs 10.75 crore had been earmarked for overall development of Kalamandalam for the next fiscal.
