The doctor, Reshmi Pillai, was arrested for rash driving and released on bail.
Thiruvananthapuram:
A 42-year-old doctor allegedly driving her Mercedes Benz car drunk in Kerala's Kollam last night hit six vehicles and left two persons wounded, the police said today. Reshmi Pillai was arrested for rash driving and released on bail soon after.
Medical tests have confirmed she was drunk, the police said. Two persons suffered minor injuries in the crash that, the police believe, could have been far worse.
The car first hit a two-wheeler before it rammed five more vehicles, the police said. "She was driving alone, but later two others joined her," a traffic police officer told NDTV.
The doctor has been accused of drink driving and endangering lives. Her Mercedes, battered by the impact, has been seized by the police and will be presented before the court. The police said her driving licence could be cancelled.
