New Delhi: Important discussions from Kerala Legislative Assembly may soon be telecast through Lok Sabha channel.
Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has agreed to consider telecasting important discussions from the Kerala Legislative Assembly through the Lok Sabha channel, Kerala Assembly Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan said today.
"Earlier, there was a direction to launch a local channel to telecast the Legislative news. Now, Speaker has agreed to provide technical support from Lok Sabha channel for telecasting the Legislative Assembly proceedings," Mr Sreeramakrishnan said after meeting Mahajan in Delhi.
The Kerala Speaker also discussed the plan to expand the scope of Centre for Parliamentary Studies and Training (CPST), under Kerala Legislature Secretariat, and to spread awareness about the law making process among the youth.
"Will ensure the assistance of Bureau of Parliamentary Studies and Training (BPST) for the certificate course conducted by CPST," Mr Sreeramakrishnan said, adding that various projects are underway to bring the people closer to the law making process.
He also sought the assistance of the Lok Sabha Secretariat in popularising the law making process.
