
Thiruvananathapuram:
A 12-member team of mediapersons from Jammu and Kashmir today called on Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.
During their interaction with Chandy, they showed keen interest in the poltical and social situation in Kerala and the influence of media, an official release said.
The visiting journalists told the Chief Minister that media in Jammu and Kashmir had been playing a vital role in bringing people to the social mainstream.
Chandy told them that Kerala stood as a shining example of media freedom.
The team would be visiting places like Kovalam beach resort, Alappuzha, Kochi, Kottayam and Idukki before winding up the tour on January 20.
The tour was organised by the Union Home Ministry and the Press Information Bureau.
