Kochi: The Ernakulam General Hospital, which already has a sophisticated Dietary Kitchen, will soon have a canteen with all modern facilities. MLA Hibi Eden laid the foundation stone for the canteen on Monday.
The canteen is constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 21 lakh, District Collector P I Sheikh Pareeth said. Of the total cost, Rs 11 lakh comes from the Hibi Eden's MLA Development Fund and Rs 10 lakh from Ludy Luiz's MLA Development Fund.
The canteen is expected to be completed in three months. Hospital Superintendent Dr M I Junaid Rahman said that the government had sanctioned Rs 2 crore for the development activities of the hospital and Rs 50 lakh for TB treatment.
