Kerala has initiated "strong steps" to take on the corrupt, said , Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
Thrissur:
The CPM-led LDF government in Kerala has initiated "strong steps" to take on the corrupt and there will be no "soft approach" towards the wrongdoers, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said on Monday.
"Efforts are on to describe wrongly the government's anti- corruption initiatives. This will be seen as if to protect the corrupt," he said while addressing a passing-out parade at the Police Academy in Thrissur.
The government's stand is "no compromise" on the issue of corruption. Goons and mafia gangs would also be strongly dealt with, he said.
Mr Vijayan's remarks came after vigilance and anti-corruption bureau had recently initiated searches at the houses of two senior bureaucrats, including Additional Chief Secretary (Labour) Tom Jose, in an alleged disproportionate assests case.
