Kunjannam Antony, the oldest woman in the country, died at the age 112 in Thrissur today, her family said.
She was admitted to the hospital last night and died of old age related ailment this morning, they said.
In 2014, the Limca Book of Records had recognised Kunjannam Antony, a spinster, as the oldest woman in the country.
Relatives of Kunjannam also have with them the Baptism certificate issued by the Vicar of Our Lady Rosary (Catholic) Church at a nearby church, recording that she was baptised on May 20, 1903.
