Parents association demands protection of nurses

Kottayam: Indian Nurses Parents Association today demanded that government take measures to protect nurses working in private hospitals in Kerala as well as other states.

The nurses working in private hospitals were becoming victims of exploitation, INPA President Dr D Surendranath alleged at a press meet here.

Nurses have to work 12 hours a day and instead of three shifts it has been reduced to two shifts, he alleged.

A majority of nursing students have completed their course by taking education loan and government should be prepared to write off the interest on the loans as their salary was less, Indian Nurses Parents Association (INPA) secretary S Mini said.

The state conference of the association would be held at here on January seven.
