Plan outlay of Rs 14,010 crore approved for 2012-13
Thiruvananathapuram: The Kerala cabinet today approved the plan outlay of Rs.14,010 crore for 2012-13 proposed by the state planning board.

Agriculture is the thrust area during the next plan period, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy told reporters after a cabinet meeting here.

There is an increase of 25 per cent in the plan outlay for the period from the current fiscal, he said.

The Cabinet decided to constitute a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for getting sanction and implementing projects sponsored by Centre under the National Manufacturing Policy.

It has been decided to set up a special agency under state Public Works Department to carry out the road development works of 1000 km as proposed in this year's state budget. An amount of Rs.200 crore had been earmarked for road development in this year's budget.

Government decided to increase its guarantee for the State Agriculture Grammeen Development Bank to Rs.500 crore.

He said Corporates with experience and reputation in running educational institutions would be given No-Objection Certificate to start Law Colleges in the state in self-financing sector subject to approval of Bar Council of India and Kerala Bar Council.
