Thiruvananthapuram:
Kerala Government is taking steps to evaluate the quality of education imparted tostudents in self-financing medical colleges in the state, Health Minister Adoor Prakash has said.
The power to evaluate the quality of education in the colleges was vested with various councils and Kerala HealthUniversity and the government had given instructions to them to assess the quality of the colleges, he said in an officialrelease.
The government promoted the self-financing sector as part of its policy to get better job opportunities for studentswithin the state itself.
"We, however, are not for compromise on the area of academic excellence. Students in such collegs will not bemade victims of education without quality," Prakash said.
The Minister asked the managements to full co-operate with the attempts of the government to improve academic qualitywhile starting and running new colleges.
