Student Commits Suicide By Jumping From Fifth Floor In Kerala's Ernakulam
26-year-old a first year MS student climbed up stairs and jumped down from the fifth floor.
Ernakulam, Kerala: A female student, pursuing her MS course at a local private medical institute, today allegedly committed suicide by jumping from its fifth floor.

26-year-old Lakshmi, hailing from Ernakulam in Kerala, a first year MS student, suddenly climbed up the stairs and jumped down from the fifth floor of the PSG Institute of Medical Science and Research, police said.

Lakshmi, who was seriously injured, was admitted to the institute hospital, but died after some time, they said.

Preliminary inquiry revealed that the student could not concentrate properly on her studies, because of her ailing mother, admitted to the hospital for dialysis, and took the extreme step, police said.

Further investigations are on.

The body has been sent for post-mortem to the Government Hospital.
