Kochi: Senior IPS officer T P Senkumar on Thursday approached the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) challenging the CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front government's decision to remove him from the post of Director General of Police.
The tribunal posted the case for June 7 for hearing the government's view on the matter.
In a top level reshuffle in the Kerala Police force on May 31, the new LDF government had shifted Director General of Police Senkumar and appointed Loknath Behara in his place.
Mr Senkumar, who is currently on leave, alleged that the government removed him from the post by violating the Kerala Police Act.
"I still have all my vertebras intact. I have never appeased anybody for any posting. I have always tried to be impartial and fair", Mr Senkumar had said in the post.
